ALePH Hebrew Classes for 2008–09

ALePH is the name for our very successful classes in “Adults
Learning Practical Hebrew.”

Hebrew
Crash Course (4 sessions)
Dates: Sundays, September
14, 21 & 28; October 5, from 9:45–11:15 AM.
Instructor
For people with no or little Hebrew background. Learn to read in 4 easy lessons.
Judith Nave is President of the Hebrew Institute of Boston and has taught adults Hebrew at Wellesley College and at the Technion in Haifa. She is the author of many articles on Hebrew Language and Literature.

Intro to Hebrew Reading One (5 sessions)
Dates: Wednesdays, October 15 & 29, November 5 &12; from 5–6:30 PM

Keep learning after the Crash Course! Learn to read the prayers and experience their meaning. Two more 5-week series will be offered in this beginning track: one running from December 3, 2008–January 14, 2009, and the second from January 21–March 4, 2009. ALePH Advanced Beginner One (6 sessions)
Dates: Sundays, November 2, 9, 16 & 23; December 7 & 15
Fee: $120
Enhance your Hebrew reading skills and learn about the structure of Hebrew. You will be able to recognize Hebrew roots and read more for meaning. Prerequisite is a basic knowledge of Hebrew grammar. Two more 6-week series will be offered in this advanced beginner track: one running from January 11–February 8, 2009 and the second from March 1–April 5, 2009. For more info contact Judith Nave.
