Weekly Torah Commentary

Monday Lunch Group with Rabbi Rim

This is a free-form discussion group (unstructured class). Join the group when you can; bring your lunch if you wish. Participants are encouraged to bring in an idea or reading to share. Drop-ins welcome! If past years are any indication, this year we will talk about:

• Politics: domestic and foreign
• Personal issues and views (what we liked/didn’t like in the paper today/what we are thinking about/what we need help thinking about)
• Books by Alison Townsend (poetry), Bernard Avishai (Israeli politics) and Dafna Ruttenberg (religious experience)

Time: Mondays from 12–1 PM
Dates: From October – June (except for legal holidays, Jewish holidays, and school vacation weeks)
Location: Temple Shir Tikvah

Hebrew Program

• Ivrit la Kol (Hebrew for Everyone) classes begin the week of October 16 at Temple Emunah and Temple Isaiah. The Learning to Read class is being offered at a special discounted price to further encourage people who would like to learn to read Hebrew this year. Learn More.

   

Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah

With Rabbi Rim Meirowitz and Cantor Beth Levin

An adult bar/bat mitzvah class leading to a ceremony, including Torah reading and d'var Torah, in the spring of 2012. Will meet twice a month for 2 hours for approximately 18 months; and involve some outside reading. Knowledge of Hebrew is not a pre-requisite, but must be gained concurrently with the class. Please contact Rabbi Rim or Beth Levin if you are interested in this life-changing experience.
