Administrative Committees

We are a member-led community in a working partnership
with our professional staff.

Our Board of Trustees and administrative committees are responsible for keeping Shir Tikvah running— everything from investing our assets to selecting plants for the garden. We are proactive and collaborative, and our work together is good for the community and rewarding for ourselves. We particularly encourage newer members to get involved. Their skills and experience bring fresh perspectives to the many different types of work we do.  

Bylaws Committee vets and recommends proposed changes to the bylaws.

Development Committee oversees plans to meet fundraising goals.

Finance Committee oversees our financial resources, budget, and investments.

House Committee oversees maintenance of our building, its systems, and grounds.

IT Committee advises on all things computer and IT-related.

Nominating Committee recommends members for open leadership positions.

Personnel Committee oversees employment policies and procedures.

Safety Committee recommends policies, procedures, and technical measures, in consultation with the synagogue community and the board, to protect its members and visitors.
