Adult Learning

Raise your hand and speak up!

Shir Tikvah offers an evolving selection of adult classes and courses taught by Rabbi Cari, specialists, and inspired educators. Classes have included revitalizing holiday traditions, Jewish music in America, introduction to the New Testament, perspectives on Jewish feminism, Yiddish literature, and writing spiritual autobiographies. Most classes are free or a fee is charged to cover materials. Most classes meet on Sunday mornings. During the Covid-19 pandemic we are meeting on Zoom. In "normal times" we meet in person  during religious school with coffee and bagels.

Through November 15 we are presenting a series of case studies called "The Future of Israel." Click here for more information, including documents from past sessions.

There are also many informal learning opportunities, including book discussions, guest lecturers, and family workshops. Check the calendar for upcoming events.

In 2018-19, we compiled a set of sermons and and resources to explore the intersection of Judaism and science. We're calling it "Science and Judaism Talk to Each Other." Check out the resource page to read the latest!
