In the library with Rabbi Marcia Plumb. Contact: Bill Prenovitz with questions. In this class, Rabbi Plumb will give us an overview of Mussar and an example of a short Mussar practice. Mussar is a 19th-century Jewish renewal movement that focuses on linking spiritual growth with day-to-day behavior. Founder Rabbi Yisroel Salanter propounded the importance of examining one’s own traits and behaviors as well as working with others on self-improvement. Mussar practice examines traits like humility, patience, gratitude, compassion, simplicity, silence, and responsibility.
