2:00 PM - 3:30 PMOneg RoomDiscovering your family history is easier than you may think!
Sunday Nov 3rd from 2-3:30 with Jonathan Rappaport of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Boston
Are you curious to discover your family history? Jonathan Rappaport will demonstrate, (with attendees using our laptops or tablets, so DO remember to bring a fully charged laptop or tablet to the presentation!) , how much easier researching our family roots has become over the past decades.
In addition to what you’ll learn in this presentation, to illustrate the research process, Jonathan will research ancestors for a couple of lucky attendees who submit information (click on the link below for details) to Paula Solomon by October 13th.
If you’d like him to research your ancestor, please provide as much information as you have about the person.
At a minimum this should include:
-
The person’s full name (and any known name variations e.g. Hebrew, Yiddish, Americanized)
-
When and where the person lived
-
Relationship to you, if known
-
Any additional information could be helpful, if known (but not required)
-
Info about the ancestor’s parents, sibling(s), spouse(s), or child(ren).
-
If you have a specific question about this person, also include that.
-
Even if you don’t want to submit the above info for Jonathan to possibly do research for you, you should have in mind a relative to research when you join us on November 3rd Having at least some of the above information about that person will help you get started.
