Get Involved!
There are many ways to participate in Shir Tikvah life...whether or not you’re a Temple member.
Friday night Shabbat services are the center of Shir Tikvah's spiritual and communal life, a weekly time-out in our lives to refresh and reboot, to slow down and recalibrate. Join us for song, reflection, and prayer every Friday night at either 6 or 7:30 pm (check the Temple Calendar for the weekly schedule). Services are held in the temple sanctuary an also streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and the front page of our website.
For families with young children, we invite you to Tot Shabbat (usually the first Saturday of each month). These free, lively gatherings for children 6 and under are open to all and include songs, stories, crafts, and more; no RSVP necessary! We also invite you to sign up for EJL (Experiencing Jewish Life), our learning program for families of Pre-K and Kindergarten students, members and non-members alike. Learn more and register here. During the Covid-19 pandemic our families gather on Zoom; email education director Bailee Star for the link, or join our mailing list for regular updates.
Holiday Celebrations: High Holidays, Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim, and more – all are welcome to celebrate! Check the Temple calendar for the most up-to-date schedule. Information is usually posted on the front page of our website as each event approaches.
Becoming a member
There are a number of reasons you might decide to join the Temple "officially." Whether it's to offer Jewish learning to your child in Grade 1 or higher (including their b’nei [bar/bat] mitzvah); to participate our many learning, social, and volunteer groups for adults; or simply to become a more deeply committed part of our community; we're here to welcome you with open arms. Whenever you’re ready, check out our membership FAQs to learn more.
