From Ezekiel's fantastical Divine chariot to the medieval Kabbalists' many aspects of God, Judaism has a rich and provocative mystical tradition. This class will explore a few of the foundational texts and themes in Jewish mysticism, surveying key texts from the Bible, Talmud, Zohar, and modern texts. We will use our exploration of Kabbalah as a tool to walk in the mystics' path, asking the questions: how do these images of God and the Divine cosmology deepen our understanding of the universe? And how can we use these texts and ideas to further our own religious practice?

The instructor for this class is Sara Meirowitz.
