Liron Zohar, Wexner fellow and director of national programs at the Medical Technology Information and Research (MTIR) Directorate in the Israeli Ministry of Health, will discuss how their efforts to promote Israel as a startup nation in the medical field The conversation will include medical device regulation, their life science project, and the conduct of clinical trials. Liron will also share her efforts and challenges in promoting gender equality at the Ministry of Health by raising awareness of gender discrimination and by dealing with sexual harassment and issues of equal representation/ Biography: As Director of National Programs at the Medical Technology, Health Information and Research Directorate of Israel’s Ministry of Health, Liron directs nationwide projects in the field of medical technologies and life sciences. Passionate about gender issues and women’s rights, Liron also serves as Special Adviser for Gender Equality to the Director General, a role that allows her to advance opportunities for women and raise awareness to gender discrimination in the Ministry of Health. Liron has a B.Sc. in Psychobiology, an M.A.in Public Policy, and an M.Sc. in Technology Management, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
