LGBTQ Families Day
Monday, June 1, 2020 • 9 Sivan 5780
All DayMonday, June 1, 2020, is not only the start of Pride Month, but also the 15th Annual #LGBTQFamiliesDay, a time for storytelling and sharing to celebrate and support LGBTQ families. Everyone is invited to participate (allies, too)! This annual event was created 15 years ago by new TST member Dana Rudolph, publisher of the LGBTQ parenting site Mombian. This year, Dana is partnering with Family Equality, the national organization for LGBTQ families, to offer more ways than ever to take part:
-
Post, tweet, or share on any social media channel in celebration and support of LGBTQ families on June 1, 2020, and include the hashtag #LGBTQFamiliesDay. You can download a shareable image or coloring sheet, use any other family photo, or just share some words of support.
-
Change the frame around your Facebook profile image to celebrate! Go to this Facebook page and search for "#LGBTQFamiliesDay" by Family Equality. Select it and click "Use as Profile Picture."
-
Follow the hashtag #lgbtqfamiliesday throughout the day and share the stories, images, and thoughts from other participants.
-
Join award-winning children’s music duo Ants on a Log for a special live online concert just for #LGBTQFamiliesDay on Monday, June 1, 2020, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. ET. Tune in at that time at the Family Equality site or at their Facebook page.
