Project Ezra

"Baking is not a small act at all; it’s an act of  love, it’s an act of charity, it’s an act of kindness and compassion. I hold that in my heart every time that I bake — that something as simple as a chocolate chip cookie might mean the world to someone."

Baking, cooking, providing, this sums up how many of us feel about Project Ezra.

For Project Ezra, a shared tradition between Temple Isaiah in Lexington and Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester, we come together to cook, bake, prepare, and package over 500 home-cooked meals for local people in need. Our goal is to deliver nutritious meals while providing opportunities for people to get involved. We need your help to make this happen. Here is how you can contribute to the effort:

  • Help count food containers 2 weeks in advance (at Temple Isaiah)
  • Be a Courtesy Caller - one week in advance call and check in with volunteers to remind them of their commitment
  • Prepare food items in your home and package food into containers we will provide
  • Purchase food items to contribute such as frozen peas or fruit
  • Deliver some food items to Temple Isaiah on Saturday, Dec. 23rd with the balance being delivered on Sunday, Dec. 24th
  • Deliver meals to families, seniors, and veterans in need on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 24th
  • Make a financial donation at https://www.templeisaiah.net/payment.php?donation_type_id=367949  (In notes/memo please write "Project Ezra.")
