Pride Shabbat: Voices of Our Community

Friday, June 13, 2025 17 Sivan 5785

7:30 PM - 9:00 PMTemple Shir Tikvah and online

As a community, Temple Shir Tikvah celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride each year. And the truth is, Pride means different things to different people. This year in particular, with the surge of hateful legislation across our country, it is important to join together in solidarity, support, and celebration.

So, in lieu of a speaker, we want to hear from YOU, the members of our sacred community, however you identify. Whether you are an ally or queer-identified, you will have the opportunity at the beginning of the service to write your reflections on an index card, with the option to share as the evening unfolds. The prompts are:

● What are your wishes and prayers for the LGBTQ+ community?

● What fear is with you that would be helpful to share?

● Where are you finding hope, joy, and/or resilience in this difficult time?

Yes, we face a multitude of challenges. Pride invites us to lean in to our resilience, our joy, and our deep, sustaining connections. Pride embodies a core Jewish value, that each one of us is made b’tzelem elohim—in the image of God. Happy Pride month!
