In times of great sorrow and upheaval, the liturgy of Tisha B'Av offers an invitation to grieve together in community. In preparation for our Tisha B'Av observance, we invite you to help us create this year's liturgy. When the first Temple was destroyed in 586 BCE, our ancestors processed their grief and trauma through a series of heartbreaking elegies that became the book of Lamentations. When we chant our ancestors' words on Tisha B'Av, we allow ourselves to layer our own experiences on top of their voices. Join us in the transformative practice of holding space for our grief, both ancient and contemporary. If you feel so moved, please respond to the following prompts with your own words.
