FAQs

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Each site is required to have at least one adult. Children of all ages may attend.

Do I have to stay the entire time?
No. Each site reservation is from Friday 1:00 PM - Monday 11:00 AM, so stay as long as you like for the weekend. Please join us!

How many people can I have on a campsite?
Each site can accommodate 1 family.

Do I have to be a paying Shir Tikvah member to join the trip?
No. This is open to anyone in the community, which includes Shir Tikvah members, EJL families, friends, etc.

I've never camped before. Are there showers? Is it safe?
Welcome to the wonderful world of camping. There are showers, toilets, and hot water. The campground is very safe and you'll be with others from our community and make many friends. The organizers will work with anyone who needs assistance with gear. Not much is needed and most items can be rented (e.g. tent, cooking stove). The showers are a short walk away and do require quarters to operate.

The trip is outside of my budget. Is financial assistance available?
Financial assistance is available. Please contact Michael Glicksman (Director of Administration) to discuss confidential financial assistance: michael@shir-tikvah.org.

Where is the campground?
We will provide directions to White Lake State Park in Tamworth NH (on Rt. 16). The campground is 110 miles from Shir Tikvah.

What can/can't I bring to the event?
Alcohol is permitted. Pets are prohibited. Fun is required. Firewood must be purchased at the campground and all external firewood is prohibited.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
E-mail camping@shir-tikvah.org.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?
Registrations are transferable to up to July 28. After that date, this change requires permission from the organizer.

Can I update my registration information?
Updates can be done directly with the organizers.

Do I have to bring my printed registration on the trip?
No. Your reservation site number will be sent to you separately.

What is the refund policy?
For payments made through Shir Tikvah, full refunds are available through July 28. After that, partial refunds are available. Please coordinate with the organizers if you need a refund.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes. We'll be working with each family for details required for the trip.

Is there a hotel available nearby that I can stay in if I want to be in community but I don't want to sleep in a tent?
There is a Days Inn next to the campground and several bed & breakfasts nearby. Contact the organizers at camping@shir-tikvah.org for details as those lodging reservations are handled separately.
