Vegan Food Sampling
Sunday, May 19, 2019 • 14 Iyar 5779
3:00 PM - 4:30 PMTemple Shir Tikvah Oneg RoomVeg out with environmentally friendly foods! Raising animals for food also raises numerous ethical questions: the humane treatment of these sentient beings, their contribution to harmful carbon in the atmosphere, their other environmental impacts on water and land, and the working conditions of the often disenfranchised people who process the products. Eating vegan is a satisfying and viable alternative. In this afternoon presentation, Minnie Halpern and Sharon Reidbord will share vegan foods that meet their family’s nutritional needs and integrate vegetarian diet choices. They will discuss some of the ethical, practical, and health-related reasons for choosing veganism. You will likely be surprised at the culinary achievements you can pull off without harming animals. RSVPs are greatly appreciated so that we can plan quantities. Please RSVP below. For more information, contact Minnie at minnie@mdhcomputerconsulting.com. The event is sponsored by the Tikkun Olam committee. Rescheduled from January 2019.
