Israel Movie "Yossi and Jagger" Dec. 14, 7:00 pm refreshments, 7:30 pm movie Join us for “Yossi and Jagger”, a groundbreaking 2003 movie based on true events. It’s a story of the love affair of two Israeli army commanders stationed at a remote base on the Israeli-Lebanese border, who are in love and struggle to find their place.
Adult Learning: Reverence and Other Virtues with Rabbi Rim December 15, 2019, 9:45 am Rabbi Rim continues his unique, religion-expanding series with a course about justice, courage, and everyday ritual. He delves into cultural history as well as comparative religion. Get a preview of Rim's insights with two short papers here and here (not required to attend the course).

Get Ready for Chanukah Sing-a-long Potluck Friday, December 20, 6:00 pm Bring a dish to share, pizza and sufganiyot (jelly donuts!) will be provided. Get ready for an evening of joy and light as we eat, sing and celebrate together. Our annual Winter Solstice Poetry Shabbat will begin at 7:30pm.
Project Ezra RECORD DEMAND FOR MEALS THIS YEAR - Please volunteer! Project Ezra is a tradition shared between Temple Shir Tikvah and Temple Isaiah in Lexington, where members of both congregations prepare and deliver Christmas meals to elderly residents and families in Arlington, Bedford, and Lexington. We have 400 meal requests this year - a new record! We need your help to make this a success. More information/sign up here.
Israel/Palestine Discussion Survey Temple Shir Tikvah is considering holding a discussion on helping children navigate the complexities of Israel/Palestine. We want to assess interest in the workshop among our membership. Please send us your thoughts here.
Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) HELP US REPAIR THE WORLD If you are interested in getting involved, contact us. The Tikkun Olam committee is looking for new volunteers to join our temple literacy team and work with elementary students in an underserved Somerville public school.
